Location & Arrival ... in Castelrotto in South Tyrol (Northern Italy)

Location

Historical centre of Castelrotto

From our cosy Alpine hotel with the most amazing view of the Dolomites, it is only 11 km to the Alpe di Siusi ski carousel (the largest high mountain pasture in Europe) and 8 km to the Trostburg Castle. Right behind us, is the start of a great hiking trail that leads above Castelrotto – offering unforgettable panoramic views.

Getting Here

by car

If you come to Italy from Austria via the Brennero Pass, you’ll find yourself on the A22 motorway. Exit the highway at the Chiusa exit, then follow the SS12 road towards Bolzano until you get to Ponte Gardena.

Follow the signs to Castelrotto (see below) Or if you are coming from the south, follow the A22 motorway as far as the Bolzano Nord exit, and then take the SS 12 towards Brenner to Ponte Gardena.

At Ponte Gardena turn left (or right if you come from the south) onto the SS 242 and continue uphill for a few kilometres. As soon as you reach the SP 24, turn right towards the Sciliar, and after about 5 km you’ll reach Castelrotto.

Drive into the centre of Castelrotto (hotel guests are exempt from traffic restrictions) until you reach the main square. Then drive through the arch on the right, and after 30 m you’ll see the Hotel Zum Turm on the right-hand side.

Arriving

by train or airplane

If you are travelling by railway, get off at the Bressanone (or Bolzano) train stations. If you decide to fly, then you should land at the Dolomiti Bolzano Airport, and from the main railway station, there’s a bus that takes you right to Castelrotto.
